 If he truly cared about you he wouldn't care about your looks or how others see you.
If he liked you 'that' much he would ask you to be his girlfriend and then walk proudly alongside you.
The sad fact is this boy has succumbed to peer pressure and cares more about what the 'cool' kids think and less about your feelings. Why would he go out with a girl he didn't want to go out with, just to stay in a crowd? That's crazy!
I know you like him but I think you can do so much better. Any guy you date should care more about you and your feelings than what others think.
Next, stop putting yourself down, I bet your not as ugly as you seem to think you are and nerdy is just a slang word for being clever, academic and passionate about things you enjoy.
Don't crave to be one of the cool kids, be an individual, stand out and be counted. Hold your head up high and walk with confidence.
I bet there's some shy guy at your school who really likes you but won't come near because of this boy you have a crush on!
You told him to leave you be and you were so right to do that.
Ignore him and cut him off unless he starts to grow up and appreciate the lovely person you are. Unless he's prepared to publicly be your boyfriend and be proud of you he's not worth it.
