I changed to yasmin 2 packs ago, im about to start 3rd one. i had to start my pill free week 2 days earlier (lost 2 pills and had to take back ups so only had 19 taken) but rang doctors and they said it would be fine as long as i only had a 7 day break. However i heard about shortening your pill free break to change the next time of your period. Im always on at a weekend, and feel like im carrying suitcases of tampons with me when i go out so, i was wondering if i only have a 4 day break and start taking the pill, that way i wouldnt be on for the weedend next time. The only problem is i only came on on the 3rd day of my pill free week, and im worrying will this stop my bleeding if i take a pill on the 5th day? or muck or my womb in some way? help xxx

reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2009): No, but the bleeding will not necessarily stop immediately. You may have some spotting.
