Will I have any problems with my penis I should think about before I have sex?

Hello,

Im 16 as you may notice in my name. I have a penis which is about 7-8 inches long (which i believe is quite large (don't mean to boast)). It bends slightly down when its fully erect and the foreskin does retract automatically, it will if I pull it back, though its quite sensitive to touch and stuff because its not use to that sort of thing because of the foreskin if you know what I mean.

I will be becoming "sexual active" with my girlfriend soon (we've discussed it) and I was wondering if I will have any problems with my penis I should think about before I have sex?

A reader, anonymous, writes (7 May 2008):

My husband is uncut too and his foreskin doesn't really retract automatically it can be slid back as in your case and during sex obviously it'll get pushed back but this shouldn't be difficult. I know when he was young and masturbating he got a little over-zealous and kind of ripped the foreskin from its attachment point, which caused obviously pain and bleeding. Do you masturbate if so is it painful? Any problems? Obviously in uncut men the head it more sensitive, which can be a great thing during sex. You'll probably want to take it slowly and either use a personal lubricant or make sure your partner is good and wet. Which I am sure your partner will appreciate especially if you are also her first!

If the foreskin doesn't retract fully it could be this.

"Your frenulum is not long or elastic enough to account for the stretching that needs to happen when your foreskin is pulled back. There are ointments/stretching techniques or a minor surgical procedure called a fenuloplasty that can be done to help. Definitely talk to your doctor about it, because there are documented cases where sex can be painful for men with this condition (frenulum breve)"
