Why would he ask me if I would be a good girl while he's gone out of the country?

A age 51-59, anonymous writes:

What does it mean when your man goes away on a trip and asks you if you will be a good girl while he is away?

Is he worried I will fool around while he is gone? Is he trying to make sure I don't?

What do you all think?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (7 September 2013):

I agree with the last poster.

He probably does mean it.

If he is jealous or insecure as many men ARE, then I think he is asking you to be faithful.

It is not so much that he does not trust you. It is his own insecurity getting the best of him.

If I said that I'd be half joking. Part of me would be honestly saying "don't mess around on me."

CindyCares agony auntI think it does not mean anything in particular, it's something often said jokingly when people take their leave : " Be a good girl " , " Behave " ,stuff like that.

Unless you know him for a very insecure, jealous type who is always paranoid about being replaced, in this case he may have expressed a real concern.

Otherwise, he was just being playful.

AuntyEm agony auntI think it was probably a throw away comment and you should just forget it. People often say 'Be good' when they say goodbye, it's just something people say!

Unless of course you have cheated on him in the past, then obviously you are giving things another go. Even then, I don't think he would say it in relationship to that.

I don't think it's a bad thing to say at all and I think you are just being over sensitive and reading too much into it.
