I also second that about embarrassement... He might think you'll think hes a randy old sod for getting an erection over just kissing!

 There is something that you should know about erections. This is probably too much information, but its the only way I know how to explain it... He actually may in fact be quite endowed down south... I am on the large side, and when i get an erection, it tends to travel down the leg of my shorts instead of poking out. He may be allowing it to go down his pantleg because sometimes we get embarassed, thinking that maybe the girl wont appreciate us getting hard over kissing.
Also, he might not feel sexual about kissing. Maybe he doesnt get aroused with just that.
