writes:My boyfriend and I haven't chatted in years and we didn't have chat installed. He recently installed his chat and I did too.The thing is I was looking at my profile from his machine as he was logged into chat and then I right clicked on my name and he had me marked as permanently offline.Why would he do that?  Sweetie, sounds like he didnt want to be interrupted by you whilst he was chatting to someone else. You need to speak to him and find out why he has put you as 'offline'. Alternatively, if you are able to get onto his profile have a look to see who else he contacts.
