Why do I have vivid dreams of cheating on my boyfriend?

A female Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I love my boyrfriend so much and have been with him for over a year. Recently however I've started having reocurring dreams in which I cheat on him.

In all the dreams I've never been the one to initiate it, it's always been some other guy (one who btw I happen to know in real life yet most often vaguely know them). And there's always been a part of me which doesn't want to do it but it ends up happening anyway. The dream always ends after my boyfriend discovers this, either because he walks in on me or I tell him and I feel only regret and pain for hurting him.

While I'd never do anything like this in real life, is there any reason why I'd be having such dreams? I usually don't look into dreams too much, most of my dreams have always been random. I have never however had reoccuring dreams before, and these dreams aren't even that crazy like most of my dreams, they'd make sense in real life if you know what i mean..

Perhaps it means you are scared of hurting him, perhaps it means you need some variety in the bedroom, perhaps it means you are craving a bit more drama in your life.

It could also be that you had the dream once after a bit too much cheese and have been thinking about it a lot so have been dreaming about your dream.

Don't stress too much and as long as you feel fine in your relationship just put it down to craziness.

Good Luck!! xx
