Why do I feel like my personal trainer doesn't care?

Is been a month now with my personal trainer and he's not given me my dietary plan or how much weight I meant to be losing each month.

I texted him my email and he said he'd send it but is been a week now. I'm so frustrated as I feel like I'm paying him for nothing.

I do like his exercises though he works me out like crazy,

What should I say to him? I don't wanna dump him yet:(

Oh and is it okay that we only text to arrange sessions and not communicate?

Okay, Spendy, a personal trainer provides training services and others as they are qualified. If you have a crush on this guy, then you should not be training with him, as it sounds like you could be taken advantage of.

Did you sign a training contract with him and/or fill out any paperwork?

Was that part of the agreement? If so then tell him you want those or you're terminating the agreement effective immediately.

Spendy you're paying this guy money for a service, it's like buying a big mac with no meat. He's being very unprofessional and you need to get your money's worth.

FYI: How much you should be losing each month is about 8 pounds. That's the maximum safe amount to lose.

Also creating a diet is easy as hell, he should have been able to put one together in about an hour. So do not tolerate this.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 March 2013):

Just like anything in this day and age, you often have to shop around before finding what you like and what fits your bill.

So his workouts are great yet he is providing you with little guidance or structure on what to expect or how to reach your goal. Information that is essential for you to know in order to reap the fullest benefits of your training.

When you purchased his services, was it said that dietary plans and mapping out your goals would be included with the training? Did you hire him through a gym you are a member of? If so, I would make a stink about it to the gym, maybe even ask for a refund.

If you hired him independently though, you might just have to take it as a loss and find someone who better suits your needs. The guy won't even return your emails. That's bs! Trainers aren't cheap.

I think it's time for a new trainer.

Tisha-1 agony auntIf it's part of the agreement for the training, remind him, do it via text and email so you have copies.

Don't pay him until you get the services you contracted to receive.

"PT, still waiting for the diet plan and weight loss targets, per our conversations. email addy is whatever at wherever dot com. looking forward to getting those. thanks"

Aunty BimBim agony auntThe reason you feel he doesn't care is because you paid for a service you are not receiving. A persolal trainer is supposed to be just that - personal. He should have presented you with you diet plan, exercise regime and anything else he offered as part of the package as soon as possible after you paid. I hope you and he both signed a contract or agreement.

Read the contract, then, if you are not yet wanting your money back PHONE or see him, tell him you are enjoying the exercises but believe to be getting the full benefit you want the other stuff .... the diet etc, ask when you can expect to receive it. If he doesn't deliver ask for your money back and find a more reputable provider.
