Why did he say we'd meet and then he blocks me?

Me and my bf had an argument 3 weeks ago we talked again and things were getting better. We started meeting again everything was normal. I met him day before yesterday and I was supossed to meet him and he told me he will let me know the time and after some hours all of a sudden he blocks me on whatsapp. And from my friend's phone he last saw the whatsapp at 9.00am and I texted him at 1pm telling him I need to see him and why he suddenly blocked me but he has not yet replied and has not yet gone online on whatsapp. What is going to happen now? We are dating for a year and whenever we argue we just break up for like a day or two and always get back stronger. Then why is he doing this all of a sudden?
