My problem is that I still don't know my safe days so am forced to use emergency pills which I believe are not advisable to use often. Please help on alternative methods of preventing pregnancy and advise on how I can be knowing am safe to have sex without becoming pregnant, ie how to know my safe days. I have my periods between the 24th and 28th day.thank you!

what's wrong with contraception?
most people who try and use the natural calendar end up having a lot of babies. just use a condom or go on the pill.

Why don't you use condoms? They're free.

The best way to not become pregnant is to use condoms (you can buy them in almost every store) or contraceptive pills, which you can get after you visit your gynecologist. I don't know on which planet do you live, that you didn't know that before, sorry. Using of emergency pills is completely foolish thing to do and it's not good for your body, actually is very bad and they're ment to be used very rare, probably once in 2 or 3 years. (that's why they're called EMERGENCY pills).
I suggest you that first thing you should do is visit gynecologist and talk about your problems. By the way, you can't count on these "safe days", because you can't be never 100% sure that you are safe without using contraceptive like condom or pills, like I mentioned.
I also suggest you that read some book about sex, because i think you don't know about as much as you need to know.
Good luck!

There is really no such thing as "safe days" per say unless your period is 100% reliable every single month. You should be always using some form of birth control, condoms, spermicidals, or go to your doctor and get some type of birth control shot or pills. Withdrawal method is not reliable, there is a pretty good chance of pregnancy using this. Condoms can split/break so it is always wise to have a "back-up". And yes, you are correct, using emergency contraceptives "morning after pill"..is NOT wise to use repeatedly. It is not meant to be used as a routine form of birth control. Please seek a doctor who can go into details about your options.

Go on the pill. Its safe and gives you an idea of when you are due etc. ALways make sure he wears a condom.
