What would make a friend that was so close suddenly not talk to you? This guy that liked me was close and we were just friends until one day he was silent. I think something happened but if he doesn't want to talk about it I can't make him. I will just have to deal with the fact that he doesn't want to talk to me.

A female reader, natasia United Kingdom +, writes (23 May 2009):

natasia agony auntSomeone might have said something to him about you. The thing that definitely would stop him talking to you (as a bloke - they are very very proud) would be if someone told him that you had laughed about him behind his back, or said you didn't like him, or something like that. Do you know anyone who might have wanted to spoil your relationship?

I think it's most likely something like that - and he won't talk to you because he doesn't trust you any more.

I would suggest sending him a text message saying you don't know what has happened, but you're really sad he's not talking to you, and could he at least tell you why, because you feel you deserve that.

Sorry - it is really horrid when something like this happens.

Try the text. Good luck.
