So I need serious help, because I don't get this at all and maybe someone or ANYONE can help me explain what it means.

My girlfriend told me last night lets go on a "temporary break up". What does that mean? Is there even such a thing as "temporary break up?"

I'm confused, I thought relationships have the options of either going on a break or just breaking up? This means no sense now, how did "temporary break up" come into the picture?

Please help explain

It means you should not be there when she comes back. She is most likely check someone else out. If that does not work, then you are back on.

Unless you did something to really get her mad, and she just don't want to deal with you right now.

I'd like to know too. This is the sort of thing that I'd never trust. Temporary break up means she wants to break up, then come back. Which means that there is a very specific reason she wants to break up and come back, which means that there could be another guy around and she's expecting you to pick the pieces up if that goes wrong.

If she wants a temporary break up, I'd take it further and just end it. This is the sort of thing I have little time for. You don't want to wind up being a doormat.
