reader, anonymous, writes (31 December 2010): I think love at first sight is a myth. It is impossible to love a person without knowing them, and you can't know them by just seeing them. What it really is, is "infatuation" at first sight.
As for love...well, I think love, classically, is wanting the best for another person. We sense in the other person virtues which we admire and we appreciate their good qualities. We also sense in them a partner on our own life's journey.
We want the best for them.
Love is also not a feeling, but a continuous action and process. Love can grow or diminish depending on one's effort and concentration. And it is hard to love if you yourself are selfish, so it is necessary to work on yourself as well.
I suggest reading more if you are interested. One classic is The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm.

Love feels different for everyone for me love is part of who i am and how i communicate with another human bean i love every one and everything . you cant describe love its something you have to fined out for yourself but if i would have to try to describe how it fells like for me i would say it makes me happy it gives me confodense it makes my heart beat go faster every time i think about the guy i love .

reader, anonymous, writes (31 December 2010): I think true love is where you love the person for their good and bad traits. i'm not sure if love at first sight is really love. i think it is more an infactuation, or attraction which can lead to love. i think love really requires one to know the person well and accept them for who they are, good and bad. a lot of people think that love is when your heart goes pitter patter and you get the butterflies in your stomach. though that may occur in the beginning, it is not the true measure. i think you know you are in love when after some time passes and the initial passion is not so intense, you think to yourself, i still want to be with this person more than anyone else in the world. i think one of the reasons why so many relationships fail is because people expect that kind of intensity to last forever, so when it fades, they mistake that for lost of love when only the love is changing to a different stage that is calmer but deeper. i was not originally physically attracted to the love of my life. we became friends first, then best friends, and now i don't even care about the outside anymore, because i am so in love with what is inside. also i think you know it is true love when you want that person to be happy more than yourself.

 Being in love brings with it one of the most sensational feelings one can describe. Its a warm glow that eminates from within, a feeling that this special person was put on earth just for you. Its loving the person more than you have ever dared to love anything, even yourself. Being with them you feel, joy, passion, happiness, and butterflies racing around in your tummy. The whole world seems like a wonderful beautiful place and the smell of cut grass on a sping afternoon, the birds tweeting on a summer's morning, or the sun setting over the horizon seems all the more sweeter.
Some people spend their whole lives looking for true love and never find it. If you find true love grab it with both hands and never look back.
And yes i believe true love is most certainly possible.

You just know. You love everything about them, you want to be with them every second of the day, when you are having a bad day they make it a good one again. It makes you happy just to be in the same room as them because to you, no one lights it up better. You find them immensely attractive on several levels.
To me that is what love is. In answer to your other question I so believe in love at first sight but it's most often more likely to lust at first sight.
