 Every woman tastes slightly different, and I think it depends a great deal on both diet and genetics. Assuming hygiene is proper and she is free of any kind of infection, most women are quite tolerable down below or even delicious, but the flavor from deep inside her can be very musty.
After you have fingered her or following penile insertion, you will have coaxed out deeper vaginal fluids which may or may not be pleasant. I've often thought it can resemble sour cream or plain goat yogurt, but in any case it is harmless if she's healthy and disease-free. Few have been "unbearable" in my experience. Encourage her to drink some fruit juice daily and see if it helps.
