What can a 25 year old female do to meet guys?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Okay, I know you guys are going to be like "boy, her life is soooo sad" and I'll be the first one to agree with you. That's why I'm hoping people could offer me tips on what to do.

I am a 25 virgin. I have only had one "technical" boyfriend and that was when I was around 14. That was also the last time I have kissed a guy. When I say "technical" I mean the guy considered himself my boyfriend - I didn't really feel ready, but we dated and went out and he gave me stuff for about six months...there was a guy I went to high school with that I really liked, but he only considered me a friend so I don't count that.

What can I do to meet guys? Obviously I'm very rusty in the dating and kissing scene. I am very shy. I don't go to bars cause I don't drink and I don't go to those dance places cause I'm a horrible dancer and they're usually too crowded for my comfort zone.

I wouldn't say I'm beautiful - I'm petite and "cute" - not some blonde-haired, blue-eyed bombshell that most guys tend to go after. I'm also very mature for my age. I'm also a little afraid of those internet dating sites because I hear all the time of stalkers. Sorry, lol, I guess I don't give you guys much to go on.

I'm a 25 year old virgin too but am, somehow, proud of it. Isn't life strange? ;.)

It shouldn't matter rather you are a virgin or not. No one will know that unless you tell someone. lol

Also, if you are inexperienced, it shouldn't matter. You shouldn't be scared to tell someone about that.

Most guys will find that a big turn on because they can teach you a few things, and you will remember them or being the first of whatever they teach you. It's an odd pride thing. lol

But, go somewhere that you enjoy being, so it won't be so stressful trying to find someone.

no worries, I'm sure you'll find someone soon enough.

Best of luck, I doubt you need it though. =-)

sugar_sugar agony auntIf you don't enjoy pubs, clubs or bars then I think the next logical places would be through friends or work. Ask your friends if their boyfriends, friends, or brothers know any cute guys you might like?

What are your interests? If you like music, strike up conversation at a gig while waiting for the band to come on?

I think going to a casual style bar for a meal rather than a drink, with friends could also be a reasonable way to meet others without having an outing thats based purely on drinking.

Okay, OP here -

That is definitely NOT the heading I put, lol. First of all, I'm not 21; I'm 25. Second of all, it makes me sound like I'm ashamed to be a virgin, which I'm not.
