Question - (30 November 2007) 2 Answers - (Newest, 30 November 2007)
A male Australia age 30-35, *pamalot writes:

I've been in a relationship with an Asian girl for about five months now and I have two problems in one (*gasp*).

First is that her parents don't want her to go out with anyone until she's 18 (she's 14 and I'm 15) and the fact that she's Asian and I'm Greek so they don't want me going out with her so they stop her going places with me.

Second is that my parents don't approve of us because she's Asian and I'm Greek so they stop me before I can go somewhere with her. This has meant that I haven't seen her outside of school for about four months and it's really painful.

Please help!! Thanks!

eyeswideopen agony auntNothing can be done about it until you are both older and no longer under your parent's control. Until then you have no choice but to follow your parent's wishes on the matter. Sorry but that's the way it is and should be in my opinion.

jm81690 agony auntTell your parents to get with the times.

Tell her to tell her parents the same, not dating until 18? That's a bit ridiculous and unrealistic.

As far as not dating people of different nationalities, that's just predjudice.

Who cares what your parents think? What can they do to you? Tell you you're grounded?

If you both like each other it's worth getting yelled at from your folks.

If it feels good do it man.
