 i think that finding these pictures has just stirred up some old emotions and feelings, feelings of good times. Had you not founds these pics would you have been thinking about him.
The next person that he got together with after you he is not together with anymore, so you know he is available. If you really feel this strongly about him, why not try to estabilish contact. I assume you have still got his number, email, address, so get in contact. In the beginning just do it on a friendly basis and ask him how his been, whats he been up to etc, then maybe arrange to go out some time.

First of all your still so young, you don't know what love is. I've been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years and sometimes...I still think is it love.
Finding these pictures it made you realize how much you still care for him because you do still care for him.
Try talking to him and say, I still have feelings for you...etc and explain how you feel. Maybe the feelings are mutual and you could maybe give things another go.
Although this might not happen and he will want to stay friends.
I dont think you just want another boyfriend, i think maybe your craving the attention a boyfriend gives...like hugs and kisses and someone to be there all the time for you
