You need to know if he is a bit of a player and is just leading you on, or if he is genuine but a little shy and doesnt want to appear to forward by asking you out.
If he's one of these guys who drive the girls crazy by sending out mixed messages and never comitting to anything, its best to find out early on isnt it?
Just ask him to a movie or coffee, something that is no big deal but the two of you will be alone in an unfamiliar environment.
