i need a new face. seriously its not just your average 15 year old "im bored of looking like me" thing. i have medical conditions and was born with a few things that have messed my face up such as a cleft lip.

theres this girl that i wanna look like - i dont wanna be her or anything. i quite like being me thank you very much i just want her face lol. is it possible to change your face completely? like the structure and things cos right now i look absolutely NOTHING like i want to look.

and please remember im not just being vain or stupid - like i said, i have medical conditions that mean my face does not look "normal" its not just that im one of those girls who thinks they're not pretty enough when they should really just count their blessings and make the most of what they do look like.

i really need a completely new face. possible?

DrPsych agony auntAs you are in the UK, you may qualify for surgical correction on the NHS. You should go to your GP and discuss the options - basically cosmetic procedures are possible when it has been identified that there are significant psychological problems associated with it (i.e. it causes you distress). It is not an overnight solution however because the waiting list for this sort of thing maybe long. Talk to your GP and ask for a referral. Alternatively, there is the private route - Harley St is a good place to start looking for a specialist. Skin laser therapy maybe appropriate for you if you have scar tissue remaining from a cleft lip procedure done years ago. You would probably require written parental consent and they would have to counter-sign any credit agreement before you are 18 but it is worth exploring the options.

i really hope you're right im so serious about this and willing to get into any amount of debt and spend the rest of my life paying it off if i have to.

i know it wont change my life or change who i am and i actually really like who i am. i think im a nice girl, a lot of fun and i have a really big heart. i just hate my face and want a normal one. its hard to explain without showing a picture of me lol but if you saw it you'd understand. i just want to look like how i know i should look cos who i am on the inside and who i am on the outside do not match at all!

rcn agony auntIt can be done. Look at the stars, they keep the plastic surgeons in business.

I want you to know this though. All though you can change your appearance, it doesn't change who you are. Your beauty will be found on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.

rcn agony auntIs this medical condition something that if you do change you're look, it continues to work against you?

It's something that is possible, but not guaranteed. I'd research it to find out what it will take to do this for you. Also if you decide this is for you, research the person who is going to do it. Make sure their specialized, and have a long, positive track record.
