I have a serious bf, but recently, I was thinking to myself, should my life-long partner also plays the role of my best friend? I mean, I trust him and love him dearly, but I sometimes can tell my girlfriend stuff that I would not tell him. Am I doing anything wrong in the relationship between me and my boyfriend? Will this affect our relationship in the long run?

mrsgreen agony auntHey sweetie...

You know your friends will always be there for you no matter what!! Never ever loose them especially over a guy.. Did you ever hear the saying "boys will come and go but friends will stay forever" No matter how close you get to your bf you will always needs a girl (or a male friend) to talk to. and sure your bf can be ONE of your bestfriends theres no harm in that at all.. But you can't always tell boys everything.... its always good to have your mates around you to.. xxxx

cd206 agony auntNo, I think it's always good to have someone you can confide in outside of a relatinship. Yes you should be able to talk to your partner about stuff but not everything. As I'm sure you know if you have a serious boyfriend guys find it harder to share than girls so if you do constantly confide in your boyfriend you're likely to feel it's a bit onesided because he doesn't confide much back. However serious your relationship you should never lose contact with your best friends anyhow because even the most serious relationship can crumble whereas friends tend to stick around a bit longer.
