Should I have let my ex back into my life after he cheated with a mate's girlfriend?

I was in a relationship for 6 years and we have two children together, and we split up 6 months ago because he was texting his best mate's girlfriend a lot. I found out that he had been going round there all the time and there was something going on between them.

When I told his mate about it all he didn't know whether to believe me. After 4 months apart he said he missed me and he still loved me, so I took him back. He hasn't moved back in, though.

I just don't know whether I'm doing the right thing by taking him back after he treated me like dirt and cheating on me. I find it really hard with us having kids together and I kind of still love him, even though I don't trust him.

I'm paranoid everytime he's not with me cause I think he's talking to or seeing her, even though she's pregnant to his mate. God it sounds so confusing don't it! I would like some advice on whether I should have let him back in my life?
