A reader, anonymous, writes (10 January 2008):

I would be sooo offended. What a nasty little witch.

Id say she might have a soft spot for the boy and she is jealous that you hang out with him. Jealousy is a horrible thing!! I wouldn't even take notice of the comment if i were you. In one ear and out the other.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (10 January 2008):

I definatly would be.

If he thought you weren't pretty though you and him wouldn't be seeing each other, so he obviously thinks that you're pretty :]

Don't listen to what your friend is saying.. she might be a bit jealous of you two.

Hope I helped a little :]

A female reader, violentviolet United Kingdom +, writes (10 January 2008):

violentviolet agony auntYes! Sounds like she is jealous of you, ignore her and go for it anyway!!

Unless she meant that he is the sort of boy who tells girls they are ugly and she is trying to protect you from someone who is not worth your time?

I'm sure you can tell which from the way that she said it. If its the first, then ignore her pettiness. If its the second, then steer clear of him.
