God, she's a bit young, isn't she? Maybe try just being friends for now!

PsyCookie agony auntAt her age, she would look at you constantly and either not talk to you or go up to you exclusively (often ignoring others).

Look at her body language. If she plays with her hair and where she puts her hands (near waist or legs). If she tries to make eye contact, that's a probable yes.

But are you sure you would want something with a 10 year old? She's too young for you and you're too old for her... at least at this stage of your lives.

A male reader, Bomopu United Kingdom +, writes (29 August 2008):

So I'm guessing she's aged 9-11? Well, her hormones may not have kicked in yet and she may have no interest in boys (in the way you like her) yet. And if I were you I'd give some thought to what her parents may think about it too. If you really want to let her know, why not just get chatting with her about something you both like, music? games? school? anything and try and turn the conversation towards boyfriends. Then you can ask if there's anyone she likes, and you could just casually remark that you quite like her and just see how she reacts.
