She's been dating someone for 6 months already, but I want her back!

Question - (30 May 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 30 May 2008)
A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I've had a crush with this girl for 3 years in high school since my sophomore year. We both have several classes together during the 1st year and our chemistry developed pretty fast. We often glanced at each other but we both turned away abruptly as soon as our eyes met. However, I was too nervous to make an approach to her, and so is she. We spoke to each other on several occasions but in a reluctant manner. In my 2nd year, we only have class with each other only once for 3 months, and after that we rarely met again.

At the beginning of my 3rd and last year of high school, I was hoping to see her again but no luck. Fortunately, during my last trimester we finally have one class together again. During this time, she often tried to approach me but still kept a distance from me. When we spoke to each other this time, she often tried to avoid making eyes contact. Then, I learned that she's been dating someone for 6 months already. Is there any chance left for me to win her back?

A female reader, xxxxxhotstuffxxxxx United Kingdom +, writes (30 May 2008):

Well all I can say is just wait and see how things are coming along for her and this guy that shes with. Maybe shes did like you before but got fed up because you didnt say anything to her which is why she moved on. I think she might still feel something for you since shes avoiding any contact. In the meantime try talking to her as a friend as friendship is the first stage of any relationship. Gain her trust and friendship and then maybe she will confess her feelings for you. You say you are nervous to make an approach but somebody has to do it and believe me its not going to be her. Shes a girl and girls expect boys to make the first move. After you have befriended her take things slowly with her and then maybe tell her how you feel and be patient with her and give her time so that she can sort out her feelings and tell you how she feels. You just might have a good chance with her. Best of luck and lots of love! xxx
