Seeing her with other guys makes me feel sick inside! Is that because I like her?

A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have known this girl for about 4 years, we grew to be best friends and it has always been like that but I now feel that things could have changed.

About a year ago she went out with this guy who I really didnt like and when I saw them together I couldnt look because I felt sick inside. When they broke up I felt bad but confused about whether I felt sick because I hated him and thought she could do so much better or because deep down I liked her.

She has started going out with one of my good friends (guy) and If i see them together I need to look away. We were all in the mall and some of my other friends pulled me away so that she and he could get some time together (I already knew he liked her but I wasnt expecting her to like him back). a few minutes later I turn around and they are holding hands. when i see this my stomach drops. I feel really bad that this happens because I am really good friends with both of them and want them to be happy but I feel uncomfortable seeing them together.

He always used to joke about me liking her because we spent so much time together. Me and him walked home and i couldn't look him in the eye.

Do I like her and if so, what should I do??

Thanks for the advice :)

I am going to wait and see if they are happy together, luckily this guy is not a complete asshole and I know he will treat her well. I don't want to interfere because as long as she is happy, that's more important.

If things between them break down I may explain to her how I feel and hope for the best. If she says that she dosent like me in that way, would it ruin our friendship?

I think you do like her. But it is not good to rush things. I am sure your feelings are very genuine for the girl. See how it goes with her and the guy friend of yours. If its iffy and if they are not that close and or if one of them doesnt like the other one more, take your chance and the risk. :) But if they both really like one another..and if you see it going somewhere, then don't interfere. It is not good to break good relationships.
