Back when I was in my 20s, I don't remember caring how long I lasted. If I got it off, then great. After my divorce and in my mid 30s, I began to care more for my partner's pleasure and put hers slightly above mine. I guess I forced myself to do that so that I would be a success with women. As I got into my 40s and beyond and had a wife, I cared more for her pleasure than mine. Her orgasms made me happy that I was making her happy. I would try to last longer to allow her enjoy sex more. Now that I am over 60, I don't have to concentrate on lasting longer. That is the way it is now :)
So peaches is partially correct. If feels good to the man no matter how long it takes. Tux and Uncle Phil are also correct. Us older guys like to last longer because we have learned to appreciate how good we feel when out partner feels good.

As an analogy, it's like going for a drive in the country, enjoying the scenery and perhaps a picnic somewhere pleasant on the way but it's nice to get home eventually.

Being older now, sometimes taking the time to pleasure her will use up my energy. However, she will then let me just jump her the next morning to get my joy.

 I disagree a little bit with Peaches83 on this. I find the act itself to be more pleasureable than the actual act of coming. I just like the way it feels better. If i wanted the pleasure of coming I could do that myself, but you can beat the pleasure of how it feels during the act.
On a sidenote, I personally find it more pleasureable for me to make my partner happy than for me to come. But that's only me. Maybe it is the machoness in me saying that but i'd like to make my partner happy. But I would prefer a long session of intercourse than a quick one ended by a fast orgasm. I like the feeling of intercourse over orgasm.
