That is NOT true, sperm can be in precum before you ejaculate. But there's only a small chance of that happening to begin with, plus, as others have mentioned, the lifespan of sperm is not exactly long. You don't have anything to worry about.

Sperm INSIDE of a woman however (just while we're on the topic) can live for 5 days.
