I'm just married about one month back. My problem is that when my husband starts penetration, i feel intense pain, although i enjoy foreplay a lot but intercourse does not give me pleasure at all. I want to ask if i need time for this or there could be some actual problem. Please reply soon and help me. Thanks

A female reader, anonymous, writes (21 January 2010):

Explore the vagina with your finger or your husband's. Very gently.

Use a lubricant such as liquid paraffin whilst inserting a finger. Many women find using a local anesthetic jelly ( such as 2% Xylocaine) also helps, as it numbs the area and reduces sensitivity.

Enjoy :)

A doctor may be able to assist you with an examination to determine whether you have an actual medical problem causing pain during penetration.
