A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (18 May 2006):

DrPsych agony auntHe sounds like he is putting you down to try to stop you finding work - some men are intimidated by independence in their female partners and he is just criticising you to control you. It must be difficult to arrange interviews around child care commitments. I have a friend in a similar situation but she works as a nanny and takes her baby to work with her. Perhaps that is something to consider as child-carers are always in demand. You should also contact your local job centre if you are in the UK as they have all sorts of schemes, and maybe able to point you in the right direction with regards to local child care services. Good luck!

Hi Angel,

I would be happy to answer your question. Would you mind rephrasing it as I'm having a little difficulty understanding it?
