A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

i knew my best friend about 6 years now and she

always talks about herself, her wedding, her clothes and what she always gets.

she knows that i wouldnt want to have a wedding in the future for personal reasons however i think she always rubs it on my face.

i believe she became like this since i met my boyfriend who was always making surprises for me and now i think she wants to get me back by saying that she would get a diamond ring for her valentines day.

how can i make her stop even tho im not jealous of her.

Thank you so much for your replay but i love her so much and we always been there for each oher and i would not want to lose her friendship for silly reasons but it does get annoying when u hear the same things.

i am never jealous of her and yes she might get the stuff she wants but i also get whatever i want.

hi

You can't make her stop..but you can make YOU STOP and yes you are jealous don't kid yourself....time to stop before you end up green with envy and spoil your friendship.

Does it matter what she gets? you have a good life yourself and you need to focus on YOU not her.

Don't get competative in this area it becomes ugly and fake.

Most girls want a big wedding, a big diamond, etc. Most girls, when they get those things, get to enjoy a little bit of jealousy from their girlfriends. She's not getting that from you, and she wants it, so she's trying to make you jealous.

Rose22 agony aunt i think she is very very excited about this and that us why she wants to share everything of it with you.

i dont think she is doing this to get in your face to show off how much she has, just try hang in there and wait till it has passed whch it will when she has had the big ordeal.

be a good friend be there for her when she wants to talk about things and she will do the same for you.

Yes, people talk about their wedding alot, biggest day of their lives. Sounds like you are jealous of her happiness and awfully petty about it. Since you cannot be happy for her maybe you are not a true friend.

A reader, anonymous, writes (11 February 2011):

It's hard for you, I know how yo must feel. But honestly I feel sorry for her. What happens if she doesn't, think how upset and hurt she would feel and her partner would be oblivious to the reason.

Valentines day is not that far away. Try being interested then it could make her feel that you care, maybe all she wants is attention.

Just try to remember that you have a loving partner and you can be thankful that. The only other thing I could suggest is being frank and bite the bullet and tell her how it is.

I really hope this helps! x
