writes: hiya im just wondering is there anyway i can get money back of mt ex that he owes me.I lent him 300ponds back in january i sent him 60pounds through the post in march and payed 60pounds for his phone bill.he always said he would pay me back but now we have fallen out and i desperatly need the money back.is there anything i can do i have tried asking him for it back but he either ignores me or says il have to wait,iv been waiting months

If you can instruct a lawyer to send him a letter stating about the money you had LENT him as the other aunt said if you have any proof include this in the letter it might give him a fright and please LEARN A LESSON but it may be a costly one

 You could pursue a claim through the small claims court - it doesn't cost a lot of money to file a claim, and the whole procedure is rather straight forward. There are also debt collecting agencies that will make calls upon him for the money he owes but their powers are limited until he has a court judgement against him saying he definitely owes you the money. If you have any paperwork or correspondence showing evidence that you gave him money - like copies of cheques issued or any documents from him acknowledging the debt then it helps for the court case.
