So I did say for him to move back, in a non-accusatory voice and all went well. I think he felt alittle embarrassed. So things are all good.

Thank you folks, I was really feeling weird. I felt so horrible. I have an amazing relationship with me daughter, and I could never ever imagine hurting her by saying her boyfriend was hitting on me. Omg!! that's pretty damaging to her self esteem.

But happy to say, he was just not paying attention. And he wont be standing too close to this lady, again!! lol, or his future mom in law.

Thanks again xo

Dear OP,

You don't want to cause drama. That's good, because you don't have to.

It may or may not be on purpose, we can't know that. But it's obviously bothering you and you've got every right to say so.

Saying "You are standing too close for my comfort, can you please move back a little?" in a calm voice is not accusatory. It's just stating your needs.

If he respects your request and is obviously sorry, then it was just a mistake. If he acts all angry and defensive, he may indeed have tried to hit on you. In that case, watch him closely.

Honeypie agony auntAge gap shouldn't matter. I don't find THAT disgusting personally, I DO find it disgusting that he is trying to "hit" on you when he is dating your daughter.

Just tell him, Hey buddy get out of my personal space. It's actually pretty easy.

Maybe he is lacking in social skills or personal etiquette. I mean even if he was coming onto you, that's a strange was to show it!

I said age gap for the reason that I am 30 years older even if he wasn't with my daughter why? I am much older then him Its disgusting....I was that age and no matter how attractive the man was an age gap like that is disgusting!!! I just don't want drama out of something that might not really be happening....like what the hell!! I am an attractive women I don't need to have flings with little boys, let alone go after my daughter's boyfriend...

I am far from desperate!! and pathetic...

I just don't know why, he would stand so close, I just wanted to see if this was a norm for this age group.

I want to say something to my daughter, but am I reading this right? she loves him so much!! what if I'm wrong!!!!

Simple, your an intelligent woman,if he is as close as you say, would this be acceptable from the man in the local grocery shop? NO! So why mention age gap, your baby's boyfriend, what do you do. You tell him to get out of your personal space and that he is making you claustaphobic and let him come to know that you like grown men, not your childs boyfriends. Silly that this has got to this stage and even more strange that you have let it get this far.

Tut tut Mummy GET A GRIP.
