 It would be best if you confront your girlfriend. Just tell her that you are confused about how she feels about you, and how she feels about your friend. If there is anything going on, they should fill you in. Ask her why she thinks you should break up, and why she is avoiding you. If she keeps avoiding you, I would recommend talking to your best friend about it. I hope all works out for the best

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2008): If you still class this other lad as your bestfriend then i think you should just ask him or confront your girlfriend about it. You deserve to know whats going on and if she is cheating then obviously you have to walk away as you deserve better then that.
