 Well first off, where is he?
My boyfriend goes away a lot. He is normally in a foreign country but because he is working, I understand that he cant always phone me when he promises he will.
Also, depending on the country he goes to and the hotel he stays in, there is sometimes when there is no signal or no broadband. So there is no possible way other than using the hotel phone which is more than triple the cost of a normal phone call. So I generally wait a few days until I can get a hold of him.
If your boyfriend is away on business, then it is quite possible that he isnt able to get a signal or the signal is intermitant or he is just too busy!
I am sure that if something were wrong, a work colleague or friend would call his folks to let them know, and his folks would call you by return.
Dont panic just yet, wait for him to call you first!

Is he working away? On a family holiday? On a lads holiday?
Is he in a foreign country where he might have forgotten a converter for his phone charger, and only keeps his phone on for a little while a day?
It does look a little dodgy that he answered to a friend and not to you. But maybe you need to give him the benefit of the doubt, wait for him to call you, ask him to explain.
If he doesn't get in touch (and it doesn't really sound like you trust him?) maybe he's not really worth all the hassle and heartache.
