My BF says if we do it while I'm on my period and he pulls out, I won't get pregnant. Is this true?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I always have sex using condoms. But he often tries to put it in without one. He's usually on top of me and starts to rub the tip of his penis on the outside of my vagina, but doesn't put it in without a condom. He has been wanting recently to do this without a condom, he says that if we do it when I'm on my period I cannot get pregnant.. Is this true? He also said that the chances would be really low if he pulled out before coming.. I'm thinking about letting him go because he really really wants to, and he's the only person I've ever had sex with so I'd like to feel his penis inside me without a condom I hear it's way better. But I'm worried about getting pregnant. Would it be ok to try if I'm on my period and he pulls out?

i had sex while on my period, and it was absolutely fine. it was messy tho, and it mite make u or him feel uncomfortable...

...but make sure u use a condom. you can get pregnant at any stage of your cycle. blood isnt a form of birth control!

if you say no your bf should listen, dont do it jsut because he wants to. think of your health and your future!

any time a penis is close to a vagina, thers a chance of pregnancy....you're not an exception!

blackroses2989 agony auntWow I guess most women dont have sex on their period do they?! LOL okay first of all if its your first time and his DO Not do it while ur on ur period. It will look like he stabbed ur vag wit his cock lol. But you always need ot wear condoms darling. You CAN get pregnant while on your period take it from mycousin who was 16 and had sex while on her period cuz she thought she couldnt get preg and ended up with twins lol. And just to let you know when a woman is on her period it can be the most incredible sensation when she has sex, it eases the cramps, and your senses are also hightened at this time. It makes for amazing sex, however its very messy if ur b/fs are afraid of blood then dont do it lol.

I'd shy away from it because I think the woman is in a very uncofmortable and sometimes painful state when they go through their menstruation... don't they?

It being messy is just another factor too though.

There is always a chance you could get pregnant - even on your period and even if he pulls out. Just before a man ejaculates a little sperm comes out so even if he pulled out, some would still be inside you and you could possibly get pregnant. Why not get on the pill or some other form of birth control?

Real question is why is he being so inconsiderate by wanting to have sex with you during your period? Is he that desperate?

vamp-gal agony auntIt's up to you what you want to do, however, from what I have learnt, this is not true, you can still get pregnant while on your period because the sperm will wait (I guess is the best way to put it), until it is over, and carry on, its journey.

It's up to you what you decide, but what he has told you is not true, also, it's not just his seamen (sp?) that gives sperm, they give off all the sperm all the time, so you can still get pregnant.

But like I said, it's up to you, whatever you decide to do, good luck to you.

Hope this helps.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (24 November 2008):

This is not true. You CAN get pregnant while on your period. The least fertile time of the month is just after your period when the cycle starts again. Plus, you dont really want to do it and have blood on him do you?

I'v even had sex without a condom a few times and have been scared to start with but havent fallen pregnant. It is a big risk to take so the best thing i suggest for you is to agree to do it just after you come off your period and pop to the local chemist and get morning after pills which are quite cheap and very effective.

Hope i've helped :)

xx
