Hi everyone. My best friend and his wife recently seperated. It was an amicable split. Recently, they had a disagreement and my best friend and his wife both tried to get me on their side. I told them that I am not getting involved with it and kept out of it. Now, I am receiving texts from my best friend saying that he no longer wants to know me because his ex won't talk to him and I assume that she isn't letting him see the kids as a result. He thinks I have taken his ex's side when I haven't taken any side at all. I've tried to make him listen to reason but he won't, all I get is abusive messages in response. I've been friends with him for years and I don't want to lose him as a friend but it seems that he has made a final decision that he no longer wants to know me. Isn't there any way that I can get through to him or should I just let him calm down, wait for him to get in touch with me or just respect his decision that he doesn't want to know me any more (even thought I did nothing)?

I'd say text him back and tell him you have not taken any side and tell him what an important friend he is. Tell him that you would like to continue your friendship but if his final decision is to forget ever becoming friends with you then do tell him that you respect his thoughts and feelings and tell him you will no longer bother him.

If he is truly what you call a "best friend" then he would somehow find his way through all this to calm down to make the decision to say sorry and that he was wrong. If not then I guess this best friend isn't really a friend who cares about other's feelings and you should not waste your time sulking over this.

BTW dont get too close to his wife kus he might just think you're trying to do smthn if you get what I mean _ and it is really hard on him rite now so depending on how you feel...act towards it

I would personally stick by him and try to comfort him since he is my best friend and I should be there for him when he needs someone.... well GL +_+
