A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I used to have 8 male friends who were very close but all of a sudden I fell for one. I am currently still dating him but have found some interesting news. Recently I have found out that all of my guy friends have had crushes on me from and it makes everything really awkward. I've tried to be nice and try extra hard to be friends with these guys but none of them want anything to do with me. they're all still really good friends with my bf but I feel like I've done nothing to have lost all my friends. I wasn't a tease or anything to any of them, i was just myself and had a bunch of best friends. Now I have none. my bf ends up leaving a lot of the time to hang out with them and he knows how I feel left home alone. i dont have any girl friends or anyone else. I just feel alone at times. I don't know why but i get really jealous when my bf leaves, like he's having a blast while I'm stuck home to twiddle my thumbs. What should I do? Am I wrong to be jealous?

A female reader, ctds001 United Kingdom +, writes (28 June 2010):

This is not a normal situation, but now your here you have to dig yourself out.

These guys may be the people you have hung out with recently but you now have to find new friends.

Maybe family members close to your age like cousins, sister etc can help you broaden your social circle.

Don't be surprised that when your social life becomes active that your boyfriend may be become jealous. Be sure to invite him out too in order to keep the relationship strong.

I think you will find as these 8 male friends start settling down you may be invited into the group again, but just as a girlfriend. But don't sit around waiting for this to happen.

Good luck x
