A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Hello, I am a white woman 42, dating a very handsome Mexican man in his thirties. we have been dating for about a month. I was wondering why it is that he doesn't french kiss? I was wondering if it is a latin thing for men not to kiss like that until they know the woman better? I really would like some feedback on this. I have tried very subtle, in kissing him to let him know that i do like that, but nothing.

A male reader, Gjmanz United States +, writes (8 November 2010):

Number one people. Mexican is not a race. It is and ethnicticity. Number two. Racism is believing that one race, usually your own, is superior to another. So I guess the posters believe she said "handsome Mexican" because a white woman would have never dated a normal looking Mexican, but since he is handsome, well, it's ok. Sounds like a bit of a stretch to me. Why would one date a race they feel superior over. Thirdly, it sounds like the op was trying find out if may be the practice was cultural, and was thinking maybe it would be rude to ask for a French in his culture. It could have been out of curiosity and respect that she phrased it that way. So, becuase there is many ways of looking at this, I question the posters who claimed racism. Why are they were so quick to point that out? May be it's there own sensitvity to race? Should there not be any races?

Danielepew agony auntHis kissing practices have nothing to do with his race. I think that should be obvious to anyone. Perhaps my being Mexican puts me in a position where the unnatural thing to do would be to even have any doubts about it.

And the race thing is, why does she have to mention she's white, if that's not relevant to kissing practices?

BeSimplyTrue agony auntHis kissing practices may have nothing to do with his race; it may be an individual preference. Oftentimes people kiss the way they like being kissed. Or, it may be what his previous girlfriends preferred. My mom has told me she hates French kissing, that she just finds it disgusting. She isn't Mexican.

person12345 agony auntInstead of trying subtle hints, just say, I want you to french kiss me. It's that simple! No, it's not a race thing.

Danielepew agony auntWhite Woman 42, another very handsome, sex-exuding Mexican is answering your question.

He doesn't French kiss because he's a damned fool. Where can I find this man to kick his ass?

Don't be subtle and tell the man you want to French kiss. If he doesn't know how, he should learn, damn it!

I have a bad feeling about your saying that you're "a white woman" dating a handsome Mexican. Smells of racism.
