A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I was seeing a guy who was really into me. A really great guy but I guess I was questioning my feelings a little, it sounds terrible but I'm sure most people would agree that when someone's too keen at the start it makes you less keen, or wanting it less... It wasnt portrayed to him though as i did really enjoy his company. It was only a few weeks and we hadn't had sex. I had to go away for a week and a half. In this time we spoke regularly and I decided to give things a proper shot when I got back. But I got back and things were completely different! It went from taking me to dinner, always replying, talking daily, ditching other plans and even jogs together to just... Uninterested and distant! We hung out once since getting back and a few texts here and there. I just want to know what makes guys do 180s like that!!! Now I want what I can't have!!!!

A male reader, idoneitagain Australia +, writes (10 June 2011):

It is natural to run from something that is chasing you. If a dog starts chasing you, you run. If a group of cows starts chasing you, you run. If a guy starts chasing you, you run. Its natural. If a guy chases you and he doesn't get enough back, or you disappear for a while, he stops chasing. It looks like he has lost interest. And guys looking like they have lost interest are as natural as woman who become super interested in the guy who has just stopped chasing them. Silly, silly nature.

He needs to know that there is still something worth chasing. Ask him out to dinner. Tell him you are interested, find out if he is still, or if he has decided he doesn't want to put the effort in any more. Being straight with him will hopefully snap you both out of the chasing game people play, and let you find out if you both want to actuall start to form a relationship of some kind.
