im starting to like a girl that has just gotten broken up with. ive been there for her and ive asked her to prom and she said she might go with me. i know thats not the same thing as asking her out out. heres my question do i go ahead and ask her or wait?

I'd say give her time and allow yourself to grow on her. If you start dating now, you will only end up being a temporary rebound and she will quickly get over you. Spend some time with her and earn her trust and respect. This will only strengthen your relationship that much more when you two do finally become a romantic couple.
