 Being wet and open is part of the problem. Maybe sometimes you can have sex when you are not so aroused. You can feel more of him when you are in the jackhammer position. I won't go overboard with suggestions and changes though because he will feel insecure as if those things were done to compensate for his size. I would focus instead on making it a loving act.
