Don't do this before looking into the LONG TERM story of sexual reassignment surgeries.

Of course people will say they don't regret it when they just did it two years ago. But I have heard that the regrets become much more common when you look at cases 10-15 years after it was done.

There's no going back, that's for sure. This isn't a joke. This is pumping tons of hormones into your body and tearing up your genitals with cutting tools to make them look different.

A female reader, fishdish United States +, writes (26 October 2009):

fishdish agony auntyou can become a woman..you go on i think some kind of testosterone blockers, so you stop growing facial hair and your muscles and voice become a little more feminine; as for surgery you can get breast implants easily, and the surgery for turning a penis into a vagina is basically an penis inverted into the body, as i understand. but it's supposed to look pretty realistic, they make a clitoris and all that too. google for transgender surgery, that should help you out

...........I should add though that these surgeries are thousands of dollars, often in the 5 figure range and they are not covered by insurance because they are considered 'elective' and not necessary. so a lot of people, at least i think it's because of the money, end up just 'passing' as the other gender, by undergoing the chemical therapy I talked about in the beginning (estrogen, and anti testosterone stuff)
