I also got cheated by a girl about three years ago and I still think about her. Maybe she didnt loved me but my love for her was and still is true. I still love her.
I think you should just ask him what's wrong and if he believes you he will tell you everything thats boggling him. And you may help him get over it making your relationship stronger.
