writes:Hello, I've been dating this man (25) for a couple of months now, however, he tells me that he doesn't use social media a lot and doesn't use Instagram at all. He sent me a few days ago a screenshot of an Instagram account (a travel account he thought I might be interested in) however he cropped the bottom part where it usually shows the profile picture/indicates that a person has an account. He never asked me to add him anywhere and our only communication is through phone texts. I find it very weird and I feel like he's hiding something especially with that cropped screenshot of the Instagram account as if he's trying to hide any evidence that he has an account. At the same time, I wonder to myself if he's dumb enough to just crop the screenshot thinking that I wouldn't notice. Why would he do such thing? I googled him online and the only thing I could find is his old Twitter account which is basically empty with a couple of posts related to his hobbies (that's how I knew that it's his) however he has been inactive for years. And I mean, it's 2022, I think almost everyone has a social media account. Is this normal or am I over thinking it? What do you all think?

 No, not everyone has social media. Some people like their privacy and don't feel a need to yell into the void about the Latte they had for breakfast or the new shoes they bought. Because no one really cares.
So no, he might NOT have an Instagram. He might have taken a screenshot or had someone else forward a screenshot of an Instagram account.
OR.... he keeps his Instagram private and you won't get invited to it until he knows you well enough to add you. Maybe he knows from experience that people like to go through other people's social media and dig through the trash. Lying about it is kinda dumb though.
However, If he takes screenshots, I'd presume he has an account that he uses to scroll on Instagram?
"he tells me that he doesn't use social media a lot and doesn't use Instagram at all. " that makes no sense for him to FIND this travel blog if he doesn't use Instagram.
We can't read his mind and neither can you. So ask him how he found that page?
