It would be far worse if he kept talking about them, wouldn't it?
I would go with what your boyfriend says. It sounds like his ex's are in his past so now he only needs to think about you. Trust him.

Honestly, i am 36, so have had a few partners over the years & i can assure you, i never think of exes when sleeping with someone & never even think to compare them!
Its totally different & how you feel about someone makes the sex better, which makes sense as you dont have feelings for past conquests normally do you? only the person you love at the time.
