writes: Sorry, this will be a little long....There's this guy that i like and i tried to show him that i'm interested but in an indirect way but he responded and we took eachothers numbers but he never calls, i always initiate and call him and sometimes he doesn't answer and calls a few days later and say excuses about not hearing the phone rang and so...But i saw him once by coincidence and he told me he wants to hang out at night and he'll call me, but he called later at night and said excuses for not going out coz he was tired and blablabla...Few days later i was going out with my friends and called him to tell him we'll hang out in a cafe if he wants to pass by and he did and he was very nice to me and my friends and started a conversation with one of my friends who is at the same time his co-worker. Anyway the next day this friend told me that he called her at work to ask about sth. related to work...and till now he calls her and sees her occasionally at work!! I'm now confused why is he acting this way and is he interested in me or my friend.. and btw i called him once and didn't answer or call back and after a week he asked my friend for my number telling her that he lost it!!The same day i saw him by coincidence ( we live near eachother) and he told me to call him coz he lost my number...Anyway i called him and he was very nice and said he wants to hang out and so on.So, what is he thinking of and why is he playing around!!?? i'm so confused...Sorry for being so detailed

reader, anonymous, writes (9 November 2006): Sounds like this is the kind of guy that you should just keep as a friend. If there was more to come of it I believe that you would be worried about the interest he shows in other people.
Maybe a good test would be to give him the same treatment and not contact him. See what happens and take things from there.
