Ask oldersister agony auntIf you have small bones, this is a good weight for you. I'm 35 and slightly taller and weigh the same. Sometimes when I run in the winter I weigh less but when I lift weights I weigh more. I only get weighed when I go to the doctor because I don't think this really reflects how healthy you are or how good you look. I feel I look best when I have muscle on me and eat healthy but I'm probably weighing the most at that time. I have a friend that is about an inch shorter than me and she weighs a lot more but we can wear the same clothes. She looks great but I guess her bones are larger and denser. If I were you, I would start a good exercise routine and you will probably never step on the scale again.

A female reader, happytochat Australia + , writes (22 May 2008):

Hey,

Have you heard of BMI? It stands for Body Mass Index. Basically you use it to work out whether or not you are underweight, acceptable, overweight or obsese.

You calculate it by using your height and weight measurments at a web site such as:

http://www.mydr.com.au/tools/bodymass.asp

You scored 20. If you score between 20-25 you are in the 'acceptable category'. So you just scrape in, therefor saying you are not underweght, however if you do lose some you could cross that boarder.

However you must realise that the BMI calculator is not 100% accurate, sometimes people can fall into the underweight category and not be in serious danger. For example, myself falls into the underweight category and my doctor knows this, but it isnt a big deal because I only just scrape in, and eveeryone in my family is natrually thin.

If you have any concerns about your weight, it may be worth having a checkup with your doctor :) hope this helped
