 Most people feel it will hurt if you have an intact hymen which is a thin covering of tissue that actually covers the opening of your vagina, it's not positioned right inside as most people think. Chances are if you horseride or have used tampons etc then it is no longer intact anyway.
From (distant) memory it doesnt hurt it just feels a little bit uncomfortable at first but it only lasts a few seconds. Being tense or dry down there will add to it so try and relax and make sure you build up to it slowly to get you ready x

 i didnt experience pain my first time at all (lucky me!) but i think thats because i wasn't expecting it therefore i wasnt worried and tensed up.
take a lot of time over foreplay and do not rush into having sex. it may be uncomfortable at first as your body isn't used to it but you shouldn't experience any unbearable pain.
and remember, it gets even better with practise ;)

 It all depends actually.
The first time that I did it with my GF (both virgin at the time) she told me that it was a little bit painful for the first 2 minute and after that she was ok with it. She also told me that she had a little bit of blood in her panties the next morning.
She wasn't very sporty.
From what I've heard, some experienced a little bit of pain and others didn't.
