I'm scared I think I have herpes.

I have been with my boyfriend for over a year. He is my first. He has been in previous relationships. He's never cheated on me. Today I discovered what looked like a blister/pimple around my anus and I'm really worried. If my boyfriend had herpes why hasn't he told me? we've had unprotected sex several times I have the contraceptive implant. So I know I'm still capable of getting sti/std's

Can I get rd of it. What happens if I'm stuck with this for life, will it effect my children?

I'm really scared what do I do.

Take a look at this site about herpes:

Also look at the discussions on healthboards:

Herpes is not something that you want to have, but it is not as terrible as you probably think it is. You will never get rid of it if you actually do have it, but many people very seldom get outbreaks. As others have said, get checked out at a doctor. It may be nothing.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (15 April 2008):

It could just be a hemorrhoid. I got one once and it was harmless, it disappeared by itself after a few days or so.

I also find it unlikely that you would show symptoms of herpes now when you've been with you're boyfriend for that long. If he contracted herpes before he met you, then you would have gotten it and shown symptoms a long time ago. Of course that leaves the possibility that he cheated on you with someone who had herpes.

I think that hemorrhoids is the most likely explanation, but you should still see a doctor as has been suggested just in case.

Tisha-1 agony auntSorry to hear of your worry. It's best that you make a doctor's appointment to have it checked out right away. It could be herpes or something else, or it could be nothing to worry about.

Here's a link for you to look at, but don't worry too much until you have it checked out by a doctor!

Talk to your doctor he can exsplane. But when you have kids when your pregnant if you have it then it will be passed to the baby but if you havent it wont.

Good luck
