writes:hi everyone, i hope someone can help. well, i've met this girl quite a while back, she's very attractive, but, there's a problem. I'm not in love with her. And I've told her this many times already. But she just won't take no for an answer. she always assumes i like her and its gettig really annoying. And she gets really emotional when i tell her i don't love her. And she knows about my crush, and she just assumes i got over my crush and that i did it for her. I mean, that's just wrong. She seems desperate at times. i hate it. on the phone, she talks to me for ages, which i hate. i don't wanna hurt her feelings, but sometimes i just wanna tell her off. she cries when i say i don't love her. please help, what should i do? she stays nearby too. cant get rid of her so easily:(. thanks in advance.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 January 2008): Sadly you have to be cruel to be kind in this case. If you have already told her how you feel and she still hasn't listened then you will just have to be firm with her. Tell her you like her - but as a FRIEND only and nothing more. That you don't want to be with her or anyone at the moment & that you are not ready for a relationship or committment of any kind just yet!
If that doesn't work your gonna have to cut all ties with her for a while as by even talking to her at the moment she is taking all this as a sign that you like her! If she has no contact at all with you for a while she might get the message. Don't answer her calls, reply to messages/emails etc for the moment & see how she reacts.
